Events and activity days

It's great to be open again, especially as we have some great family-fun activities and events coming up.

Saturday 9 May 2015 we will be celebrating World Fair Trade Day. Come along between 10.30am and 12.30pm for some fun craft activities for children. This activity is free and you'll even get to take home whatever you make! Just drop in on the day to join in.

- Monday 1 June 2015 from around 7pm (time to be confirmed). Join us for two talks relating to our current exhibitions. Curator of the Forest of Possibility, Natasha Howes, will give a talk about the exhibition, its artwork and how it came together. Our second talk will be from Susan Broadhead, about the Magna Carta called 'What did the barons do for us?'. The event will be free of charge, and requires no booking.

- On Saturday 13 June 2015 there will be another family fun day run by one of the artists from the Forest of Possibilty exhibition. Claire Brewster will be creating some wonderful art from paper. If you would like to join Claire between 12.30pm and 2.30pm, please contact the museum to book a place. The activity is suitable for children aged eight years and over and costs just £2. Contact us here or visit the Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall to book a place. There are a limited number of places, but if you miss out museum staff will be running other drop-in activities on the day so there is always a good reason to come see us.

Please contact us here if you have any questions about the above events and activities.
