STUDIO 1  is an open studio format creative space where people can visit in office hours (same as Town Hall) and try out different Digital Media techniques in our Activity Stations as well as interact with artists at work on three different projects:

1. Dogs' Dales - An animated short film inspired by Skipton and Craven and featuring real local locations and real local characters in an anthropomorphic dog form. (For example Judy P.  Town Hall ambassador is going to be a golden spaniel. )

The Animation is made using local wool as a material.

People have access to follow a professional animation production from the stat to finish with a local subject on location and online. Virpi Kettu from is the director and animator of this project.

2. Rudi The Crow - Patricia Stienstra from is going to develop a storytelling/ puppet show with one of the featured characters form Dogs' Dales: Rudi The Crow, a straight spoken country crow keen to make new friends. Patricia will make the puppet in Studio 1 using local wool and develop the stories in front of visitors.

3. Contemporary Local Wool Sculptures - Ellie Morley from will experiment with wool and other materials to create Craven inspired art pieces that are linked to her digital media work.

Studio 1 has the full support from Skipton Town Hall, grants from Craven District Council, Bowman-Riley Architects and we are waiting to hear from other funding sources.

Studio 1 has a strong community and educational agenda and therefore we are offering Animation/ Digital Media workshops.
