Giles, Peyton and Thompson: Aspects of a Collection

19 January – 2 May 2011

In 2009 Craven Museum & Gallery were approached by three still life artists – Sarah Giles (painter), Helen Peyton (printmaker), and Joanna Thompson (painter) who wished to use the museum’s collections as inspiration for their work.

It was agreed that the artists would work in the museum and behind the scenes in the museum store. The results of many hours of investigating boxes in corners and finding treasures in cupboards will be on show from January 2011. Each artist has chosen different objects for their inspiration, and what inspires them may be a surprise to you.
