Friends of Craven Museum

The Friends of the Craven Museum consists of an enthusiastic group of people whose aim is to support and promote the work of Craven’s unique museum. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month from October to April for an illustrated talk or lecture, often related to items from the collection.  One meeting every year is a social evening devoted to mini talks given by members followed by drinks and nibbles.  During the summer months we usually have two outings to local places of interest.

The Friends also tries to support the museum financially by channelling any gifts or donations towards the needs at any particular time.  Recently we helped with the purchase of some mediaeval coins found at East Marton, which have been added to the collection and a donation has been given towards a display featuring notable people from Craven that is currently being worked on.
